The outlawed Biafra terrorists group is no longer visible - Nigerian army boasts of victory

- The Nigerian army has boasted of its ability to put an end to the IPOB crises in the southeast

- The army claimed to have crippled the activities of the Biafra National Guards and other agitators

- The army claimed that Abia state is now peaceful after the crises that rocked Aba in the past week

The Nigerian army has claimed that it has crippled the activities of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), the Biafra National Guards (BNG) and other agitators in the southeast.

The army claimed that its Operation Python Dance in the southeast, especially Aba, Abia state has doused the fire of crises in the region, Premium Times.

Sagir Musa, a colonel and deputy spokesperson for Army’s 82 Division in Enugu, said: “The usual violent activities of the outlawed Biafra “National Guards” (manning check points and extorting money from traders and motorists) have now been checkmated. Similarly, the outlawed Biafra terrorists group presence is no longer visible and people go about their normal businesses without fear, let or hindrance.

“Despite the initial opposition by IPOB members and sympathisers , the general area of the south-east especially Aba in Abia state is now fully stabilised."

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that the Nigerian army said that it is launching Operation Crocodile Smile in the southwest.

The army claimed that the operation, which is similar to the Operation Python Dance in the southeast to tackle insecurity issues like the Badoo cult group in Lagos.

Brig. Gen. Sani Usman who is the director, army public relations, explained that the operation were not targeted at any ethnic groups but to train the army so that it will be able to act when called upon.
