How Nigerian mother of 2 tried to dupe prison officials in Ogun to help her robber boyfriend

NAIJ.com gathered that a mother of two whose boyfriend is in prison custody was found attempting to smuggle in a phone for him.

According to reports, 33-year-old Fatima Balogun, a divorced mother of two children, had tried to take a phone to her boyfriend of two years, Ganiyu Ajibode, who was remanded in prison for armed robbery.

Fatima who was caught by officials of the Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS) in Ibara, Abeokuta, Ogun State, reportedly hid the phone which was first wrapped in a cellophane bag inside a cooler of soup which she brought during her visit on Wednesday, October 25.

According to the suspect, that was her first visit to see Ajibode who has been in the prison for six months. She reportedly said “I know they will not allow me to take it (the phone) to him in the prison.”

Fatima Balogun was caught smuggling a phone into the prison for her boyfriend.

Ogun state controller of prisons, CP Benson Abolade, said the act was a threat to national security, stating that Fatima was arrested for trafficking in prison which is against prisons operations.
