- The national coordinator of APGA media warriors forum, Evang Chinedu Obigwe, has declared that no Igbo person will vote for APC in the next Anambra election
- He said that APC’s change slogan is a taboo in the state
- He said that in a free and fair election, Governor Obiano will always win because of his provable good works in the state
The national coordinator of APGA media warriors forum, Evang Chinedu Obigwe on Wednesday, November 8, described All Progressives Congress (APC)’s slogan ‘change’ and modus-operandi with which the party runs the affairs of the country, as a taboo in Anambra state.
Vanguard reports that Obigwe, made the call in a statement issued to newsmen, saying that those contesting along with Governor Willie Obiano were doing so to justify all righteousness, hence the reason some allegedly resorted in hatching rigging plots.

NAIJ.com gathered that Obigwe noted that: “You cannot change a winning team. Change is a taboo, Obiano’s excellent performance in office endeared him before Anambra electorates, thus the reason they are poised to re-elect him for a merited second term”.
Speaking further, he called on the international community to ensure that the APC-led federal government delivers a free and fair election in the state, to deepen Nigeria’s nascent democracy.
“Nigeria will boil if Anambra election is rigged. The only thing that will renew people’s confidence in Nigeria electoral system is free and fair election”, he said.
The statement read: “As Governor Obiano is busy campaigning for his re-election, Tony Nwoye, the APC governorship candidate is busy seeking federal government’s support to rig the forthcoming November 18th election. He wants to poison the mind of the President against Governor Obiano with lies but it will never work.
“In Anambra state, if you conduct a free and fair election 100 times, Governor Obiano will win because of his provable good works in the state.
“For El-Rufai to shamelessly be telling those that cares to listen that he was locked up in his hotel room in Anambra during the 2013 election is a political punch on himself. In a sane society since El -Rufai is not an eligible voter in Anambra state, he has no right to move around the State on Election Day.
“The reason Governor Obiano is the choice of Anambra traders, traditional rulers, President Generals, political class, the academia, Keke and Okada riders, youth and the physically challenged is because he has justified the confidence reposed on him by Anambra electorates.
“Also Obiano’s second term re-election will entrench sense of belonging in Anambra’s political system.

“I urge Anambra electorates to see this election as a battle for the security of their future and that of their children that must be won without any electoral malpractices.
“Resisting rigging is Anambra electorates inalienable right. Use your right to ensure a free and fair election in the state”, he said.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had previously reported that the national coordinator APGA media warriors forum, Evang Chinedu Obigwe, called on President Muhammadu Buhari to use his good office to ward off any electoral malpractice in the forthcoming Anambra gubernatorial election.
