- WAEC gave details of results of examinations that were withheld
- It said those that were guilty of malpractice will not get their results
- Those exonerated will soon receive theirs
The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has announced the cancellation of the 2017 examination results of those guilty of malpractice.
In a series of tweets via its official page on Friday, November 10, the examination body explained that those guilty will not have their results.

It also indicated that those exonerated of malpractice will have their results released soon.
It wrote: "On withheld results of the WASSCE for School Candidates, 2017, NEC has met & decided that results of those found guilty of exam malpractice should be cancelled & results of those exonerated be released.
"Relevant Divisions/Departments have been put on notice to ensure that the results of candidates earlier withheld b/c of exam malpractice but exonerated by the 64th NEC are released as quickly as possible.
"The NEC, guided by the rules & regulations guiding the conduct of our examinations, determines that based on available & verifiable evidence/proof brought before it from the Examination Centres & Marking Venues."
