In a statement signed by his Special Assistant (Media and Communications), Pastor Adebayo Oladeji, the CAN president said most Christian leaders in Nigeria were shocked by the remarks credited to Osinbajo in the media and had sought the intervention of the leadership of CAN to set the record straight with documented facts detailing plot by the present government to islamise Nigeria.

The group also commended Southern governors for their resolutions on the raging debate on restructuring the nation for effective governance during a strategic meeting of religious leaders in Warri, Delta state.

Recall that governors from the seventeen southern states met in Lagos recently at the Southern Governors Summit where they deliberated on the need for Nigeria to be restructured.
