The federal government on Wednesday, November 1, filed a suit against the embattled former chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms, Abdulrasheed Maina, at the Magistrate Court in Abuja.
The FG in its suit before the Chief Magistrate levelled a six -count charge bordering on false pretences, breach of trust, cheating, official corruption, embezzlement of pension money, fraud among many others against Maina.

The charges filed by the FG also formed a basis for an arrest warrant issued by the court and signed by the Chief Magistrate, Elizabeth Jones, on the arrest of Maina who is currently at large.
Punch reports that the Chief Magistrate ordered all police officers and personnel of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to execute the warrant issued against Maina.
Jones said: “You are hereby directed to arrest the said A.A. Maina."
Also a a letter from INTERPOL dated January 11, 2016, indicates that Maina had been placed on "Red Notice" following a request by the EFCC.

The letter with reference number CB: 3383/X/ICPO/FHQ/ABJ/ADM/VOL.1/83, was titled, “Re:Request for publication of Mr. Abdulrasheed Abdullahi Maina (PPT. NO. AO 5130220) was signed by the Force Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department, Olushola Kamar Subair.
Part of the letter read: “I refer to your letter no. EFCC/EC/IGP/09/334 dated the 18th November, 2015 on the above-mentioned subject.
“Be informed that the Bureau has taken necessary action on the wanted fugitive as requested in the INTERPOL General Secretariat, Lyon, France.
“He has been published on the INTERPOL Red Notice accordingly (see the attached copy of the publication), for your information and retention.
“Accept the warmest regards of the inspector general of police, please.”

NAIJ.com earlier reported that Maina had denied all the allegations levelled against him.
Maina in a recent video he made said he never embezzled any fund as widely purported in the media.
Maina's fraud allegation and disappearance case surfaced after he was announced as the new director of ministry of interior despite being a fugitive on the run.
