- Patrice Evra was sent off before Marseille's game at Vitoria de Guimaraes on Thursday, November 2, after kicking a supporters in the head

- The former Manchester United leftback was named among the substitutes for Marseille's game against Victoria

- During warm up, a fan appeared to have provocated the leftback, and he went in for the fan with a flying kick

Not too often do we see player get sent off before a game kicks off, but Marseille left-back, Patrice Evra was sent off during warm up after kicking a travelling Marseille fan in the face.

The former Manchester United player was involved in a verbal exchange of words with a Marsille fan during warm up for Marsille's game against Victoria.

The referee apparently saw the incident and red carded Evra before the game even started. He wasn’t set to start but Marseille couldn’t name a replacement on their bench.

Marseille could face the possibility of a hefty fine by Uefa and Evra is certain to get an automatic three-match ban for the red card and most likely will face further disciplinary actions.

Marseille manager Rudi Garcia said: "We'll see what happened. As far as I'm concerned, I have information, but I did not see anything because I was in the dressing room.

"On the other hand, I can say two things: Patrice, given his experience, must not respond to provocations. What must also be said is that the supporter in question is not a supporter of OM.

"When we are, we do not insult one of his players. But once again, Pat has experience and he should not have reacted. I found myself with one less solution (from the bench)."

Evra joined Marsille last summer from Italian champions Juventus, but his relationship with Marsille fans haven't been so great, with this latest incident the relationship will apparently completely disintegrate.
