Groups protest at the Libyan Embassy against slave trade

Some civil society groups are currently protesting at the Libyan embassy over buying and selling of Nigerians by slave traders in the African country.

The protest is aimed at calling on the Libyan government to stop the barbaric act which has shocked the world.

The protesters made this known on the twitter page of 'our mumu don do'.

The group said: "Our peaceful demonstration today at the Libya Embassy Abuja against the barbaric selling and buying of Nigerians in Libya.

"Nigerians with conscience were there. You too can join us again at the Foreign Affairs Commission on Monday."

The protesters calls for an end to slave trade in the country

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, November 28, in Abidjan declared that all Nigerians stranded in Libya and other parts of the world will be brought home and rehabilitated.

In a statement by his senior special assistance on media, Garba Shehu, the President while speaking when he addressed Nigerians in the Diaspora, vowed to reduce the number of Nigerians heading for Europe illegally through the Sahara Desert and the Mediterranean Sea by providing basic social amenities such as education, healthcare, and food security at home.
