High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, a leading contestant for the position of national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has stated that he will never step down for any other contender, The Sun reports.

Dokpesi made his comments as he arrived at Eagle Square, Abuja, venue of the Elective National Convention of the PDP, on Saturday, December 9.
NAIJ.com gathers that Dokpesi also alleged that ahead of the convention, money had exchanged hands.
However, he declared that his fate was in the hands of God, and expressed confidence that the convention would still be successful.
In his words: “I will not step down. I will never step down. My fate is in the hands of God and the delegates.”

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that another aspirant to the office of the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Jimi Agbaje, withdrew from the race.
The withdrawal was announced on his verified Twitter handle, @Jimiagbaje, on Saturday, December 9, few hours before the commencement of the National Convention to elect new leaders for the opposition party.
