Israel launched fresh airstrikes in the Gaza Strip on Saturday, December 9, Newsweek reports.
NAIJ.com gathered that militants fired at least three rockets towards Israeli towns from the Hamas-controlled strip on Friday, December 8. Two of the rockets were said to have landed in Gaza, while the third exploded near the Israeli town of Sderot.

Israeli military said in a statement that Israeli Air Force aircraft targeted four facilities belonging to the Hamas terror organisation in the Gaza Strip; two weapons manufacturing sites, a weapon warehouse, and a military compound.

A senior Hamas leader, Fathi Hammad, said anyone seeking to move their embassy to Jerusalem was an ‘enemy of the Palestinians’
However, US ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley on Friday, December 8 justified Trump’s decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
She said US ‘recognises the obvious; that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel’. She added that US is ‘to achieving a lasting peace agreement’.
NAIJ.com had previously reported that president Donald Trump had announced that Jerusalem would now be recognized as the capital of Israel by the United States of America. Trump announced the decision in a speech at the White House on Wednesday, December 6.
The US president stated that the development would advance the Middle East peace process and that it was ‘long overdue’.
He further disclosed that if approved by both the Israelis and the Palestinians, the US would support a two-state solution.
