A coalition of youth groups across the country, under the umbrella of Buhari Youth Organisation (BYO) has endorsed President Muhammadu Buhari for re- election in 2019.

The youth groups who were drawn from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), endorsed Buhari at a meeting in Makurdi the Benue state capital at the weekend.

The group maintained that the president remains the perfect candidate and must be supported to seek reelection in 2019, The Nation reports.

Comrade Yusuf Nalado, the national president of BYO, listed some policies of the Buhari administration which stand him out among other candidates jostling for the presidency in 2019 to include the reforms in the Nigerian Custom Service, treasury single account, anti- corruption war, social investment programmes and federal inland revenue service (FIRS) among others.

Nalado said the chances of All Progressives Congress (APC) with Buhari as its candidate will not be affected by the defection of former vice president, Atitku Abubakar, to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Meanwhile, the PDP on Monday, December 18, asked the minister of information, Lai Mohammed, to prove his allegation that the party was using 'stolen funds' to re-brand ahead of 2019.

NAIJ.com gathered that the PDP in a statement by its national publicity secretary, Kola Ologbodiyan said the allegation was intended to "Divert public attention from the heavy sleazes under the current administration, the latest being the moves to use the fight against terrorism as a conduit to siphon public funds for partisan purposes.

The party said the APC administration was nervous over the rebranding and the renewed popularity of the PDP.
