Aisha Buhari thanks Nigerians, medical team working to keep her son in stable condition

- Aisha Buhari has released a statement to thank Nigerians for praying for the recovery of her son, Yusuf

- Yusuf was involved in an accident alongside his friend, Bashir Gwandu, in Gwarimpa, Abuja, and was rushed to the hospital

- Aisha also thanked the medical team that took care of her son

Nigeria’s First Lady Aisha Buhari is has expressed her gratitude to Nigerians for their prayers on behalf of her son, Yusuf, who was involved a bike accident.

In her message on Friday, January 5, Aisha also thanked the medical team that worked hard to keep her son in a stable condition, The Cable reports.

NAIJ.com gathered that Yusuf, the only son of President Muhammadu Buhari, was attended to by Isaac Adewole, minister of health, three professors and other medical experts.

Aisha stated: "On behalf of my family, I will like to thank well-meaning Nigerians for their prayers in the past week.

"Special thanks to the team of doctors and specialists who have worked tirelessly to ensure that my son Yusuf remains stable, most especially Nurse Eze Doris Eberechukwu of Nisa Premier; the medical team chaired by the Honourable Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Folorunsho Adewole; the team of neurosurgeons, Prof. Temitayo Sokunbi; Prof. B.B. Shehu; Dr. Biodun Ogunbo and Assistant Prof. M.Raji Mahmud; the team of orthopaedic surgeons, Dr. Felix Ogedengbe and Dr. Akinola; the intensivists, Dr. Simon Esangbedo; the Personal Physician to the President, Dr. Suhayb Sanusi; my personal physician, Dr. M. Kamal and the nurses have all ensured that he remains stable while receiving treatment.

"Also many thanks to Dr. Jaf Momoh CMD of National Hospital Abuja and his team for their continuous support."

Yusuf was involved in a bike motorbike accident on Tuesday, December 26, and was rushed to Cedarcrest Hospital, Abuja, where he underwent a surgery.

The presidency confirmed that Yusuf suffered a head injury and multiple fractures.

President Buhari was reportedly unhappy with Yusuf’s security details for allowing him leave home in the night on his power bike.

The president was said to have gone to the hospital on Wednesday, December 27 and expressed his unhappiness that his son’s security details allowed him out on a bike at the time of the night.

Meanwhile, Senator Bukola Saraki visited the injured son of President Buhari, Yusuf, at the Cedarcrest Hospital in Abuja.

The Senate president was among other top government officials who visited the president’s son on Thursday, December 28, at the hospital following his bike crash on Tuesday night, December 26, which got him seriously injured.
