Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, is reportedly eyeing a deal for Corinthians’ Brazilian wonderkid Maycon.

The 20-year-old midfielder has been on the radar of Gunners scouts on a number of occasions over the last few years.

With his performances being tagged impressive, reports back to Arsenal have been nothing short of impressive.

Corinthians value their star-man around £9m, but will demand he returns on loan as part of the deal.

Italian giants Napoli, is also keen on adding the teenage sensation to their ranks among a number of other clubs across Europe.

A source said: “Arsenal are very interested in Maycon. He has been watched a fair amount for more than a year.

“They have been impressed and he has a promising future. He is not really a player for now.

“There could be issues with getting him a visa. It would take a lot of work behind the scenes to get sorted.

“Arsenal have other priorities, so it could be one that happens in the summer, rather than now.”

Meanwhile, Arsenal snapped-up Manchester United ace Henrikh Mkhitaryan earlier this week.

He joined the Gunners as part of a deal which saw Alexis Sanchez go the other way.

The Chilean, 29, became the highest paid player in Premier League history, with a £505,000-a-week contract.
