- Thierno Ballo has confirmed that he has joined Chelsea

- The 16-year-old Austrian confirmed on his Facebook page

- He will join the Blues youth team where he will continue his football career

Austrian youngster Thierno Ballo has confirmed that he has joined Premier League champions Chelsea, and he is expected to be drafted into the youth team.

The player who was born in Guinea was said to have already played for Chelsea’s youth team in friendly matches and made a huge impact last season when he scored five goals in a 6-1 win over West Ham.

Ballo who turned 16 on Tuesday, January 2, announced his move to Chelsea and accompanied it with a picture of himself holding up the club’s shirt at Stamford Bridge.

Ballo began his career at SC Chemie Linz and he is said to have scored over 200 goals in two years with the Austrian club.

The striker then spent three years with Bayer Leverkusen’s youth team before joining Viktoria Koln in 2016.

And so far this season, Ballo has scored seven goals in 25 League appearances for the club’s Under-17 side.

He will join the Chelsea youth team who train in a state-of-the-art complex near the Surrey village of Cobham.

Earlier, NAIJ.com had reported how Chelsea striker Ike Ugbo completed a loan move to MK Dons, and the 19-year-old Englishman will be there for the rest of the season.

Ike Agbo was said to have completed his move to the League one club on January 4, but his transfer is subject to clearance from the relevant governing bodies.

He has however expressed happiness following his move from Chelsea to MK Dons.
