Reigning Premier League champions Chelsea are reportedly ready to move for the signing of Roma striker Edin Dzeko before the close of the January 2018 transfer window.
Chelsea coach Antonio Conte initially wanted the signing of Englishman Andy Carroll but there are reports that the club have kicked against the deal.
The Blues are now said to have made inquiry about the availability of Edin Dzeko this month, and Premium Sport claims that Roma will not allow the former Manchester City star to leave this month.

But the report also stated that Roma chiefs could change their decision depending on the offer Chelsea bring for the 31-year-old Bosnian international.

West Ham United forward Andy Carroll has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

According to the report by Mirror, some Chelsea faithfuls have vowed to burn down local library should the club sign the Englishman from West Ham United.
There have been reports that Chelsea are planning to sign Andy Carroll this month as a cover up for Spanish striker Alvaro Morata although United stated that the Blues have not made any contact.
