Pastor Oritsejafor’s jet grounded over maintenance issue - NCAA

- Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor's jet was not grounded as a result of his inability to maintain it, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has said.

- The NCAA said the jet was grounded as a result of maintenance issue

- It claimed that the aircraft went through a shabby maintenance service, hence, the reason for it being grounded

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), has clarified news surrounding the grounding of a private jet belonging to the former president of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor.

The NCAA said the issue was as a result of maintenance issue.

Reports have it that the jet, a Bombardier with US registration number N431CB, was grounded alongside another private jet.

Speaking on the issue, Sam Adurogboye, spokesman of NCAA said the aircraft was grounded for safety reason, Daily Trust reports.

He said the aircraft went through a shabby maintenance service, hence, the reason for it being grounded.

He said: “The thing is that it has a maintenance issue. They did a maintenance which was not properly done. That was what caused it to be grounded. We had to ground it to let the maintenance be sorted out. People have a way of cooking up stories because of the personality involved. The aircraft only has a maintenance issue.”

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that a private jet owned by a former president of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, has been reportedly grounded due to his inability to maintain the jet.

According to Sahara Reporters, the jet in question was the same aircraft which was used to ferry cash to South Africa for arms purchase during the Goodluck Jonathan regime.

The online medium reports that another jet owned by business man, Jimoh Ibrahim, was also grounded under similar circumstances.
