- The competition mainly for players playing in Africa will kickoff on January 14 in Morocco

Salisu Yusuf who is the head coach of the home based Super Eagles of Nigeria has released his final 23-man list for the 2017 African Nations Championship which will hold in Morocco.

The competition which enters the fifth edition is made only for African players who are playing their club football for any team in their countries.

As expected on the list, goalkeeper IKechukwu Ezenwa made the final selection, but the Enyimba goalie will face serious competition from teammate Joel Afelokhai and Plateau United goalie Oladele Ajiboye.

Super Eagles coach releases final 23-man list for the 2017 CHAN

Ajiboye was superb last season for Plateau United helping the Jos based club to win the 2017 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title.

But the surprise omission on the list is that of Nasarawa United goalkeeper Suraju Ayeleso who kept the highest clean-sheet at the out-gone NPFL season.

The 2017 CHAN will begin on January 14 in Morocco, and Nigeria who finished as third best in the 2014 edition will face Rwanda in their first match on January 15.
