- The Democratic Youths Congress for Buhari 2019 (DYCB) says the real terrorist should be the governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose
- The group said Fayose's comments and public utterances are capable of tearing the country apart
- It states that no blackmail will stop President Buhari's soaring image
The Democratic Youths Congress for Buhari 2019 (DYCB) has reportedly condemned the governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose, over his recent public comments on the attacks by suspected herdsmen in Benue state.
Daily Independent reports that the group’s national chairman, Honourable Kassim Mohammad Kassim, said this when he spoke with journalists in Owerri, Imo state.
Kassim, who is also a member of the Nasarawa state House of Assembly representing Akwanga South constituency, reportedly declared that the comments credited to Fayose on the killings by suspected herdsmen as well as other national security issues were inciting and unbecoming of a leader.
According to the group, Fayose’s utterances and actions are capable of escalating the security crisis, in the country.

“It comes to us as a great dismay that Fayose as a leader of that repute has never in his life created a solution, which was why he was elected in the first place but rather has been inciting one section of the country against the other.
“It is obvious that Fayose’s statements and antics are politically motivated to blackmail President Buhari’s administration ahead of the 2019 election, but no amount of campaign of calumny can stop Buhari’s re-election because majority of discerning Nigerians are impressed with his performance.
“In fact, we are members of the Democratic Youths Congress for Buhari 2019, condemn the attack in Benue state as unwarranted and we call on the communities and the herdsmen to resolve to their issues in a manner that peace will return and we also want to draw the attention of the federal government and entire Nigerians to the day-to-day activities of Governor Fayose and also to monitor some of his activities because we are beginning to see that he is part and parcel of those sponsoring crisis in this country as a result of some of his malicious statements.
“It is a disgrace to this country that as a governor of a state, he lacks the attitude, the culture and the character of a leader because most of his actions have been inciting and instigating crisis in the country,” the group said while absolving President Buhari of complicity in the killings.
“If we are to be sincere to him, we will agree that he is trying his best to put an end to the security challenges in the country but that cannot work if we have saboteurs who are living with us who instigate crisis and live a luxurious life, while the poor continue to suffer.

“We call on Nigerians to identify such leaders and come out openly to say no to their activities and political ambitions for this country to grow,” he added.
