Barcelona legend Xavi reveals the 2 players who will replace Messi and Ronaldo

Barcelona legend Xavi has named Paris Saint-Germain duo of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe as the players he thinks will replace Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi at the top.

The veteran Spaniard, who now plays for Qatari side Al-Sadd SC, was team-mates with Messi for 10 seasons, while he played in the same league as Ronaldo for six.

Xavi who spent 17 seasons at the Nou Camp winning eight La Liga titles and four Champions League trophies, was highly regarded as one of the best midfielders to have graced the game.

The 38-year-old also played alongside Neymar for two seasons before his departure from Nou Camp, and has big expectations for the Brazilian.

Speaking to French media outlet RMC sport Xavi said:"I have a huge respect for him [Neymar],"

"He's a fantastic footballer, when Messi and Cristiano lower their level, he will win the next Golden Ball."

And when asked about Neymar's team-mate Kylian Mbappe, Xavi added: "When Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo retire, the debate about the best in the world will be between Neymar and Mbappe."

NAIJ.com previously reported that Chinese Super League club Hebei Fortune are reportedly ready to meet Lionel Messi's £621 million buy-out clause at Barcelona.

This comes after the club had offered Messi a sensational offer of around £1.7 million-a-week salary after tax in the summer, which he declined before signing a new Barcelona deal.
