- Chelsea are considering to trigger the £176m release clause of Brazilian midfielder Casemiro

- Casemiro is an important player in Real Madrid and the deal to sign him may not materialize

Chelsea are reportedly ready to trigger the £176m release clause of Real Madrid's defensive midfielder, Casemiro, Don Balon reports.

The 25-year-old has been key player in the midfield in Zinedine Zidane’s side in recent seasons and he is regarded to be one of the finest defensive midfield players in Europe.

Casemiro partnership with N’Golo Kante in Chelsea’s midfield could be the ideal pairing with the Blues who are currently struggling with recent signings in that part of the pitch.

Tiemoue Bakayoko and Danny Drinkwater joined Chelsea in the summer but are struggling fit into position, while Ross Barkley is yet to make a meaningful impact either.

Casemiro's inclusion looks a clear upgrade in that department but Don Balon suggest the Brazilian will be difficult to let go by Real because of his importance to the team.

It is not clear how far Chelsea would be willing to go for the signing of Casemiro, or how much Roman Abramovich will be putting on the table but Don Balon suggest some kind of approach has been made to Real.

At the end of the present season, Chelsea urgently need new recruitment for next season's campaign but will have to wrestle Casemiro out form the Bernabeu.
