Professor Usman Yusuf, the reinstated executive secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), has disclosed that he resumed work on Wednesday, February 7.
Yusuf reportedly made the disclosure during a chat with Daily Trust on Wednesday night.

NAIJ.com gathers that the NHIS boss stated that he had resumed work by holding a meeting with some key officials of the agency.
He stated: “I have resumed. You know, the reinstatement is with immediate effect. I will be in the office tomorrow (today).”
Yusuf had also met with President Muhammadu Buhari; the minister of health, Prof Isaac Adewole; and the immediate past acting executive secretary of the NHIS, Malam Attahiru Ibrahim, at the Presidential Villa on Wednesday.
Yusuf had been suspended by the health minister after a committee set up by Adewole accused him (Yusuf) of corrupt expenditure on healthcare training without recourse to any appropriate approving authority.
He however denied the allegations.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that the minister of information, Lai Mohammed, said that the reported reinstatement of Prof Usman Yusuf would not affect any probe by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The minister of information said Yusuf’s reinstatement would not stop any probe if he was under investigation by the EFCC.
He said: “I am not aware that the EFCC is investigating the recently reinstated executive secretary of NHIS; but if that is the case; I don’t think his reinstatement is a bar to any investigation.”
