Chelsea star man Eden Hazard is excited with the impact of new signing Olivier Giroud has brought to the team since signing for the club in January from Arsenal.

Giroud opened his account for the Blues in the fifth round FA Cup win over Hull City at Stamford Bridge where Chelsea were 4-0 victors.

The Frenchman scored Chelsea's fourth goal when he muscled his way to have tap-in from Emerson's cross.

Hazard is impressed and told Telefoot: "Giroud? All players who can strengthen us are important.

"He will understand how (Antonio) Conte wants to play. He's going to be a plus for the team."

Giroud, whose assist set up Hazard to score Chelsea's first goal against West Brom, could be in Antonio Conte's starting line up when they face Barcelona in the Champions League round of 16 tie.

It will be Chelsea's third match in a row at Stamford Bridge and the Londoners will be looking to put up an upset against the visiting Spanish side.

A win for Chelsea would ease the pressure on coach Conte after series of speculation about the Italian getting sacked by his employers.

Chelsea are fighting for a Champions League spot as they are currently in fourth position with 53 points with 11 games left to play.
