Ayodele Fayose has advised Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state to decamp from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Ekiti state governor gave the advice on Thursday, February 8 when he led a delegation of his cabinet members to condole with Ortom over the New Year killing of 73 citizens in Benue state, Daily Trust reports.
Fayose who urged Ortom to move to another party alleged that the APC at the national level had abandoned Ortom at the time he needed them.

“If you enter a vehicle and it broke down on the way and it could no longer carry you again, please come out of it and look for another vehicle so that you will certainly reach your destination.
“God has even made it very easy such that we have Toyota, Nissan and different other vehicles. So you just enter the one you like. You are a sitting governor and have the first offer of refusal,” Fayose said.
Ortom was a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) until December 2014 when he left to join the APC and thereafter secured the governorship ticket to win the 2015 election.
NAIJ.com had earlier reported that Fayose paid a condolence visit to Governor Samuel Ortom and the people of Benue state over the clashes between farmers and herdsmen.

Fayose, who is chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum, was received by Samuel Ortom, on Thursday, February 8, The Cable reports.
During his visit, the Ekiti state governor offered prayers at the graveside of the 73 persons killed in January by suspected herdsmen.
Fayose’s visit came 24 hours after that of Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers state.
Meanwhile, the Edo state government has banned night grazing in the state to avert further herdsmen/farmers clashes, NAN reports. The ban also prohibits the carrying of guns by herdsmen while taking care of their herds.
NAIJ.com gathers that Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo, who announced this on Thursday, February 8, in Benin, said that the government had set up a seven-man committee in each of the 18 local government areas of the state to enforce the order.
Obaseki was speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting with the Serikin Hausa/Fulani from the 18 LGA’s of the state.
He charged the committee to visit all cases of herdsmen/farmers clashes in all the local government areas for amicable resolution.
