The Department of State Services (DSS) has announced the arrest of Barnabas Torva Amadu, who is believed to be a member of a gang that kidnapped and killed Hosea Ibi, a lawmaker at the Taraba state House of Assembly recently.
The Punch reports that the DSS said Amadu was arrested on February 25, at Takum in Taraba state, after a joint team of service operatives and the military arrested a 23-year-old Isaiah Suwe.

According to the report, Suwe led the team to Gbise Village in Katsina Ala local government area of Benue state where Madu and members of his gang were arrested.
Quoting a statement signed by the spokesperson for the DSS, Tony Opuiyo, in Abuja on Tuesday, February 27, the report listed other arrested members of Suwe’s gang as Aondi Tersoo, Nengenen Mbaawuaga Damian, Aondoase Kayitor, and Ternenge Terso.
The DSS described Suwe as an accomplice of an alleged kidnapper, Terwase Akwaza (also known as Ghana) who is on the wanted list of security agencies.
On the other hand, Amnadu was said to have participated in the kidnap and murder of the lawmaker in January, 2018.

The report said about nine SIM cards, different telephone brands and accessories as well as a First Bank ATM Card, a flash drive, one voter card and one identity card belonging to one Moses Yaro, a member of Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) in Taraba state were recovered from the suspected gang.
NAIJ.com earlier reported that troops of 23 Brigade deployed to Wukari on Ex Ayem Akpatuma and team of Department of State Services from Jalingo arrested suspected kidnappers and killers Honourable Hosea Ibi.
In an earlier released statement by the deputy director, army public relations, Colonel KO Ogunsanya, the arrested suspects include Jaka Ejukun (24years), Peter Isaga (33years) and Arachukwu Bedforth (21years).
