NAIJ.com notes that the governor also sees the move as a means to increase Plateau’s economic prospects and empower the state’s youths.

The funds for the establishment of the ranches are reportedly identified under the agriculture and rural development sector.

According to the permanent secretary at the state’s ministry of finance, Alhaji Sani Yahaya Mavo, the procurement of 17 Unit of MF 435 tractors will also be covered in the N4b allocation to the agric sector.

Mavo also stated that any citizen who tries to frustrate efforts of revenue authorities would be dealt with by the Lalong government, and that the government would keep maintaining zero tolerance on corruption and mismanagement of state resources.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that Governor Lalong lashed out at his predecessor, Jonah Jang, for his comment concerning establishment of cattle colonies in the state.

Senator Jang had earlier criticised the governor’s stance on the establishment of cattle colonies saying his constituency will not accept it while also insisting Lalong apologise to Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue for his comments in the aftermath of the herdsmen killing.

In a statement, Lalong said Jang had no moral right to criticise him, considering the number of persons who lost their lives during his administration.
