Nigeria women bobsled team rocks aso ebi during Winter Olympics opening ceremony (photos, video)

- Nigeria on Friday, February 9, participated at the opening ceremony of the 2018 winter Olympics

- This will be the first time that Nigeria will be taking part in the event in South Korea

Nigeria contingents at the 2018 winter Olympics have shown the stuff they are made of at the opening ceremony on Friday, February 9, in Pyeongchang South Korea.

This will be the first time that Nigeria will be participating in the winter Olympics as Seun Adigun, Akuoma Omeoga and Ngozi Onwumere compete in Bobsleigh, while Simi Adeagbo will participate in the Skeleton competition.

Seun Adigun is the driver of the Bobsleigh team and also currently a chiropractic student studying for a dual degree of a Doctorate of Chiropractic from Texas Chiropractic College and a Master's of Science in Exercise & Health Science University of Houston Clear Lake.

Akuoma Omeoga is one of the brakeman for the Nigerian Women's Bobsled Team and also works as a healthcare recruiter.

Ngozi Onwumere on the other hand is one of the brakeman of the team. She competed for Nigeria in the 2015 All African games in Track & Field.

Earlier, NAIJ.com had reported how the Nigerian team comprising of Seun Adigun, Akuoma Omeoga and Ngozi Onwumere completed five races on their road to qualifying for the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympic games.

They were joined by Simi Adeagbo who qualified to fly Nigeria’s flag in the game of Skeleton after she got inspired by Seun, Akuoma and Ngozi’s story.

With the help of Visa, these ladies have set a record and are now gunning for something bigger – to win a medal at the winter Olympics.
