- The directors accused the new director general of the agency of plans to sack some senior officials
- They said the plan by Ahmed Abubakar would be unhealthy for the country’s security
The National Intelligence Agency (NIA) has said that Nigeria's security is currently at risk.
Some directors of the agency in a petition to the members of the House of Representatives raised an alarm over the possible implications of the 'crisis riddle' intelligence outfit.
The directors in their petition to the committee investigating the leadership change at the agency said there are plans by the new director general, Ahmed Abubakar, to sack some senior officials of the agency.

They said the plan by Abubakar would be unhealthy for the country’s security.
In the letter dated January 29, the three directors said the new DG’s relationship with Chad, is not fully unravelled.
They said Abubakar's relationship with Chad can also be identified as a possible avenue for security breach.
“As insiders, we are in a position to state that, the process of vetting in respect of the new NIA DG negates conventional practice, as nobody has visited Chad where he claims to have grown up and schooled to probe into his differential associates, or even his likely espionage roles,’’ the letter said.
The directors also prayed members of the House Committee to probe activities of the Kingibe panel, alleging financial impropriety on the part of the committee.
