Ritchie scores as Newcastle United disgrace Manchester United in tough Premier League match

- Newcastle United on Sunday, February 11 defeated Manchester United 1-0

- It was in a tough Premier League match played at the St James' Park

- Matt Ritchie scored the only goal for Newcastle United

Premier League returnees Newcastle United on Sunday, February 11 produced superb display in front of their faithfuls as they defeated Manchester United 1-0.

Anthony Martial was down in the 2nd minute of play and was taken out for treatment, but he returned to the pitch for Manchester United.

The two teams gave themselves good football, but failed to score any goal in the first half.

Newcastle United got their goal in the 65th minute through Matt Ritchie who was wonderfully set up by Dwight Gayle in which United goalie David Dea Gea was helpless.

Ten minutes later, Pogba supplied a superb pass for Romelu Lukaku, but the Belgian international was unable to beat Martin Dubrauka who was in goal for Newcastle United.

Manchester United tried to leave the St James' Park with a point when Alexis Sanchez tried to pick out a team-mate in the area but his cross was blocked by Mohamed Diame.

Newcastle United however went on to win the match 1-0 thanks to Matt Ritchie's 65th minute goal.
