- Senator Shehu Sani has reacted to the appointment of Bola Tinubu as mediator to resolve the crises rocking the APC

- Sani said the appointment is the last chance for peace in the ruling party

- Tinubu was appointed to head the reconciliation committee by President Buhari

Senator Shehu Sani, representing Kaduna Central senatorial district in the National Assembly, has described the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Reconciliation Committee set up by President Muhammadu Buhari as the last chance for peace in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The senator disclosed this via his Twitter handle on Tuesday, February 6.

He twitted: “Asiwaju’s APC reconciliation committee is the last penalty kick for peace and unity within the Party.”

NAIJ.com previously reported that President Buhari, as part of on-going efforts to improve cohesion within the ruling party, designated Tinubu to lead the consultation, reconciliation and confidence-building efforts in the party.

Tinubu's experience in politicking is expected to galvanise APC members across the nation to unite ahead of the 2019 general elections.

The assignment will involve resolving disagreements among party members, party leadership and political office holders in some states of the federation.

Meanwhile, the ruling party on Tuesday, February 6, thanked Tinubu for accepting the role assigned to him by President Buhari to lead the reconciliation team.

Speaking with Independent Newspaper, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party’s national publicity secretary, described the appointment of Tinubu as a welcome development.

He said that the task requires a great deal of political skills and experience and they believe Tinubu possesses the requisite skills needed to carry out the task effectively.
