NAIJ.com gathers that the governor lamented over the fact that sleep had eluded him as a result of the killings of his people. However, he stated that he was hopeful that God had taken over the battle.

He stated: "We couldn't have been using swords or guns to fight them (gunmen); but as we pray, God will fight for us. Since this problem started, I have not been able to sleep for more than 20 minutes without waking up."

Ortom called on the nation’s leaders to take responsibility to end the killings, as he stated that his people could not keep living like refugees in their own land.

He also stressed that the various security agencies must do their best to rectify the situation.

During the visit, Prof Emeka prayed for the killings so stop, and also donated relief materials to the displaced persons.

The cleric spoke on Friday, March 16, when he and his wife visited Benue to console and pray for the government and people of the state over the killings by suspected herdsmen.

In his speech, Pastor Adeboye explained that he refused to visit the state before President Muhammadu Buhari in order to prevent any form of suspicion among politicians.
