Osinbajo is a man of humility and justice - Tinubu celebrates vice president at 61

- The vice president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has expressed his gratitude to God for making him witness his 61st birthday

- Osinbajo said he is gradually becoming a senior citizen

- Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress(APC), described the celebrant as a humble and just leader

The vice president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, on Thursday, March 8, expressed appreciation to God on his 61st birthday.. He stated that he was gradually getting to the status of senior citizens in the country.

This came as Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress(APC), has written a letter to Professor Osinbajo in commemoration of his 61st birthday. In his description of the nation’s number two citizen as someone who is committed to justice, Tinubu said Osinbajo has remained humble despite his high profile office, Vanguard reports.

Tinubu, in a statement read by Tunde Rahman, his spokesman, said: “This day presents an opportunity for us to thank God for the years He has given you and to pray that He provides you with many more birthdays.

“Your birthday also gives me the chance to tell you that the respect and affection I have for you as a brother and friend is deep and abiding. Your life has been one of commitment to the principles of justice, honesty, fairness and equality of all people under God." Speaking at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Vice President Osinbajo prayed that the country will remain in togetherness, joy and peace.

Osinbajo remarked: “I am grateful to God for preserving my life. It is just exciting to be one year older. I think we are gradually getting to that class who are called senior citizens and in some way it places greater responsibility.

“But I am immensely grateful to God and thank everyone for the surprise. I pray that our country will be greater and greater, that it will prosper and that we will experience true joy and true peace.”

Earlier, NAIJ.com reported that renowned publisher and public relations expert, Mariam Mohammed, had joined other Nigerians to wish Vice President Yemi Osinbajo a happy birthday.

In a statement sent to NAIJ.com, Mohammed said: “I raise a toast to an amazing leader, academic and mentor without measure. As a man of grace, you have demonstrated that the gift of God is not to be taken lightly, and for this, you have committed yourself to service and betterment of our country, and society.”
