Tension in Adamawa as over 100K dump PDP, APC for SDP

- Hundred thousand members of the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress have dumped the parties

- Parties' members decamped to the Social Democratic party in Adamawa state

- The new members alongside Emmanuel Bello were received by the national chairman of the SDP Olu Falae

The national chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Olu Falae, has said that over 100,000 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) have dumped the parties.

Daily Trust reports that Falae said these political party members officially joined the SDP in Adamawa state on Wednesday, March 21.

Speaking at the official decamping of the party members at the Lamido Cinema, Adamawa state, Falae said, he was in the state to receive Emmanuel Bello and others to the SDP.

He said: “I have come to receive Chief Emmanuel Bello and a hundred thousand others who have dumped APC and PDP to join SDP from today they have become a bonafide member in the state."

The party chieftain said SDP which has been in existence since 1982 believes in changing the change come 2019.

Also speaking, John Nuhu said the 100,000 that dumped APC and PDP to join SDP are from various local government areas of the state.

Nuhu said while Yola north has 2500 new members; Gombi and Song gained 10,000 members each; Hong, 5,000 and Fofure gathered 3,000 new members.

Others include: Demsa, Numan, Lamurde, Guyuk, Jada, Ganye, Mubi north, Mubi south, Michika, Madagali which gathered 10,000 new members each while: Shelleng, Maiha, Geriei many others gained 5,000 members.

Meanwhile, the national leader of the SDP, Jerry Gana, said this is the first outing they have made in 2018 year.

Gana said the SDP train is moving in a good speed to take Nigeria forward.

He also welcome the Bello and other new members of the SDP to the party.

NAIJ.com earlier reported that the Ondo state chapter of the SDP gave reasons a former governor of the state might leave the PDP.

The state's party chairman, Korode Duyile, said former governor Olusegun Mimiko is a members of a forum known as the Southern Middle Belt Forum which is also a party to the SDP.

Duyile noted that the former governor would be highly welcomed if he eventually decides to join the SDP.
