- Adebutu said that the party has learnt greatly from its previous mistakes

- He remarked that the party is making decisive efforts to reconcile all aggrieved party members

Oladipupo Adebutu, the chairman of the House of Representatives committee on rural development, has said Nigerians clamouring for the return of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), in 2019.

Adebutu said this during his tour to Odeda local government area in Ogun state, where he held meeting with the PDP party faithful and stakeholders, The Punch reports.

Adebutu, a governorship aspirant also remarked that things have been tough in Nigeria in terms of economic hardship, hike in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), and insecurity among others. He stated that the party had learnt from its past errors.

Adebutu said the opposition party at all levels had started making serious moves to reconcile all party chieftains and stakeholders who had grievances with the party.

He remarked: “The leaders are already looking into the issues of aggrieved people. Once our leaders take care of that aspect of it, you will see everything sorted out. So, that’s basically the situation now. And even the people are crying out for us to come back and to reorganise, to restrategise and to deliver a better government.”

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that the PDP had said it would easily reclaim states in the southeast zone in 2019 due to the under-performance of the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration.

The party made the statement the during the inauguration of the PDP Youth Alliance in the southeast zone.
