Why It is difficult to make Nigerian leaders accountable - Shehu Sani

Senator Shehu Sani has said some persons oppose Muhammadu Buhari because the president doesn’t come from their ethnic or religious background.

The senator representing Kaduna central district in the Senate also stated that ethnic or religious factors make it difficult for Nigerians to hold their leaders accountable.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has said his administration is winning the war against corruption and also enforcing the rule of law.

He said this has resulted in significant growth in the non-oil sector which is creating thousands of jobs across the country.

The president made the statement on Thursday, March 1, when he spoke at a meeting with a Qatari business delegation led by the former Emir, Sheikh Hamad Al-Thani, at the presidential villa, Abuja, a statement by his senior special assistant on media and publicity, Garba Shehu, said.

In the statement obtained by NAIJ.com, Buhari said his administration’s economic agenda has always been to move away from over reliance on crude oil and food importation.
