The International Police is yet to declare Senator Dino Melaye wanted, three days after the Nigeria Police Force claimed that the lawmaker and seven other suspects are on the radar of the global police organisation.
Checks on the Interpol website reveals that the profiles and pictures of the lawmaker representing Kogi West Senatorial District and the other suspects were not displayed as at Friday, March 30.
Out of the 113 wanted persons featured on the platform, only one fugitive, Festus Chinedu, 32, is a Nigerian.
He is wanted by the Uruguayan authorities for drug trafficking and participating in a criminal organisation.
Senator Melaye has been seen severally in public places since he was declared wanted.
The police had alleged that Melaye contracted some political thugs and handed over a bag containing an AK-47 rifle, two pump-action guns and N430, 000.00 to share.
The lawmaker was said to have met with the suspects on Airport Road, Abuja inside his car in December 2017.
Senator Melaye has since denied the allegations threatening to sue the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris.
Meanwhile, CP Esa Sunday Ogbu has assumed duty and taken over as the Commissioner of Police in Kogi state on Friday, March 30.
He replaces CP Ali Janga, who was redeployed after the suspects in the senator's case escaped from prison.
