Bello reiterated that the APC-led administration at both federal and state levels has successfully transformed the social and economic fortunes of the country within three years in line with the change mantra that brought it to power.

He added that even opposition parties now feel the impact of the sincerity of the APC, having won in free and fair elections and adhering to rule of law as nurtured, encouraged, and promoted by the party.

The governor also urged Nigerian youths to participate actively in politics in order to inject new ideas and concepts into political activities of the country.

Governor Bello restated that his administration would continue to focus on empowerment, creation of employment, restoring the glory of the state and wooing of investors within and outside the country as a deliberate policy to boost the economy.

Speaking at the occasion, the state APC chairman, Engineer Mohammed Jibril Imam, appreciated the federal legislator’s vision of donating the campaign for the president and therefore urged other political office holders to emulate the legislator.

NAIJ.com previously reported that the stakeholders of the ruling APC reportedly decided to field President Muhammadu Buhari as the party's presidential candidate in the 2019 election.

According to an investigative report by Sunday Tribune, some of the stakeholders were thinking of a second option but changed their mind when it seemed the president would be running for a second tenure.

A stakeholder of the ruling party who spoke to the press said: “Notwithstanding the widespread call on Buhari not to seek re-election in 2019, the reality in the APC is to the contrary. We have seen that the unity of the party cannot be guaranteed without Buhari. The interests are just too diverse."
