Your mistakes are too costly to be forgotten and forgiven - APC chieftain tells PDP

- The APC deputy chairman in Kano, Shehu Maigari, has stated that Nigerians cannot forgive and forget the mistakes made by the PDP

- He stated that the apology given by the PDP chairman was enough reason to keep Nigerians away from the party

- According to Maigari, the PDP spent 16 years committing mistakes, and will never get it right even if it is allowed to govern the country for 60 years

Alhaji Shehu Maigari, deputy chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano state, has stated that there are enough reasons why Nigeria should not vote for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in subsequent elections, Daily Trust reports.

He made the comments on Monday, April 9. Maigari stated that the recent apology given by the PDP national chairman, Uche Secondus and the statement attributed to a former Sokoto governor, Attahiru Bafarawa, that God was punishing the opposition party for its sins, was enough to keep Nigerians away from the party.

NAIJ.com gathers that Maigari noted that it was good that those who made mistakes had started admitting to them; and he asked Nigerians to thank God for compelling both men to speak the truth.

He stated: “How can people spend 16 years committing mistakes and yet they cannot realise it until when the opportunity they are enjoying gets lost? Had it been the PDP was opportuned to return to power in 2015, the so-called mistakes will never be realised and the nation will continue to be in a mess.

“As far as APC Kano is concerned, the party that spent 16 years committing mistakes will never get it right even if it is allowed to govern the country for 60 years.

“Therefore, the so-called mistakes committed by the PDP are too costly to be forgotten and forgiven by Nigerians.”

In a related development, NAIJ.com previously reported that the All Progressives Congress took a swipe at the opposition Peoples Democratic Party over the apology it tendered to Nigerians for mistakes made during its 16-year rule.

A statement signed by the APC’s national publicity secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said although acknowledged, the apology was belated as Nigerians still suffer from the PDP’s years of misrule.

The APC also said despite the apology, the PDP still needs to “confess their sins and fully atone for it, before restitution is considered”.
