Drama thickens as Baba Ijebu's daughter files counter affidavit against estranged husband Olujuwon Obasanjo, says he abandoned her while on honeymoon

- Barely a year after their societal wedding, Tope Adebutu and Olujuwon Obasanjo are still at each other's throat

- Following Juwon's claims that he was physically assaulted by his wife, Tope, she has filed a counter affidavit

- In it, she claimed she was abandoned on their honeymoon trip while Juwon cheated on her with several women in Lagos

The drama between Baba Ijebu's daughter, Temitope Adebutu, and former president, Olusegun Obasanjo's son, Olujuwon seems unending.

Recall most of Nigeria's elite class were all present when Tope and Juwon held a lavish societal wedding on May 11, 2017, which marked the beginning of them as husband and wife.

Just before the couple walked down the aisle, Olujuwon's mum warned against a grand wedding and advised it be a private affair or be postponed to a safer time. All her warnings fell on sandy soil and began to only make sense when roughly, eight months later, Juwon allegedly left his matrimonial home.

The distressed groom later spoke up, claiming his newly-wed wife was physically abusive towards him. His mum, Taiwo Obasanjo, also spoke up revealing that her son has been incommunicado since November 2017 and the wife didn't care much.

Just recently, Tope shared her side of the story and accused her husband of cheating on her. The daughter of Baba Ijebu swore in a court affidavit where she claimed she was abandoned in Monaco, where they had planned to enjoy their honeymoon.

She refuted physically assaulting Juwon as he claimed and revealed while she was gathering her self-worth which was left shattered in Monaco, he was busy sleeping with several women in Lagos.

The obviously heart-broken wife also claimed they never enjoyed marital bliss and she was never loved by her husband. She said: "He was not close enough to me to consummate our marriage, which remains unconsummated as he maintained the constant habit of despising and distancing himself from me despite several efforts I made to endear myself to him.”

She added, "Jonwo has always meted emotional and psychological hardship on me through the act of abandoning me in his father’s house where he kept me and rendering himself incommunicado during the period of desertion without giving me any reasonable or justifiable explanations upon his return.”

Tope denied marshaling any form of assault on her husband and claimed he is a drug addict and is currently undergoing rehabilitation at a private hospital.

She added that her mother-in-law, Taiwo, is trying endlessly to defame her and tarnish her career. She said: “My mother-in-law continues to attack, ridicule and defame me with the aim of destroying my career and frustrating my marriage to the Jonwo."
