Liverpool line up £12m deal for highly rated Premier League star

Champions League finalist, Liverpool are reportedly plotting a summer move for Swiss international, Xherdan Shaqiri following Stoke’s unceremonious exit from the Premier League at the end of 2017/18 campaign.

The highly rated winger is now up for grabs during the summer for £12m as a result of a release clause inserted in Shaqiri’s contract with the relegated side.

A Daily Star report, quoting sources at Starsport claim that Liverpool’s German Manager Jurgen Klopp is eager to bring the 26-year-old to Anfield before the commencement of hostilities this August.

The German tactician is searching for more quality talents that will act as additional support for Egypt’s Mohamed Salah, Brazil’s Roberto Firmino and Senegal’s Sadio Mane.

Interestingly, Kop’s Premier League rivals, Everton are also keeping tabs on the stocky winger.

On the other hand, Serie A campaigners, Roma are equally considering a move for Shaqiri.

However, with hostilities for the 2018 Fifa World Cup in Russia due to commence in the coming days, Shaqiri’s future might not be sorted out until after the global football showpiece.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously had reported that Liverpool are reportedly plotting a deal for £10million-rated (about N3.6bn) Super Eagles star Moses Simon.

Interestingly, two other Premier League sides, Newcastle and Brighton are also keeping vigil on the recuperating 22-year-old winger who currently plies his trade with Belgian side Gent.
