Liverpool superstar Firmino attacks Sergio Ramos, calls him an 'idiot'

- Firmino blasts Ramos following comments he made about Salah's injury

- The Spaniard slighted the Brazilian while giving his own side of the story

- Ramos was also accused of delibrately clashing with Loris Karius in goal

Liverpool star Roberto Firmino responded to Sergio Ramos' comments on the Champions League final by calling the Real Madrid star an "idiot".

Ramos was involved in some incidents that raised eyebrows by fans and pundits in the Champions League final.

The Spain international tangled with Reds main man Mohamed Salah and seemed to pull the winger to the ground.

The 25-year-old landed awkwardly on his shoulder and was substituted after suffering a dislocation of the joint.

Then, with the game still scoreless, Ramos appeared to strike Liverpool's German goalkeeper Loris Karius with his forearm.

The 32-year-old finally broke his silence, playing down the incidents and firing a shot at Firmino as well.

He said: "I am only missing Roberto Firmino saying he got a cold because a drop of my sweat landed on him."

However speaking ahead of Brazil's game against Austria on Sunday, Firmino responded.

He said: "I prefer not to make any comments," said the former Hoffenheim hitman.

"I think he has a view because he was the champion but I thought he was an idiot for what he said but that's okay."

Salah who is hoping to get the back to full fitness for Egypt's World Cup campaign has refused to put the blame on Ramos for his injury.

Karius suffered a concussion in the incident with Ramos, prior to his two errors and doctors claim it could have contributed to the two blunders made in the match.

Karim Benzema put Madrid ahead in an unlikely fashion and Gareth Bale's 25-yard effort was spilled by Karius.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had earlier reported that the Real Madrid captain claimed Mohammed Salah should have continued the match despite have the shoulder injury.

He said the the former Chelsea striker should have been injected and allowed to continue the match.
