Spain’s La Roja defender Jordi Alba has ‘rejected’ recent transfers linking him with a move to Manchester United transfer this summer.

The 29-year-old Barcelona defender is said to be attracting interest from Red Devils’ Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho, according to the Daily Star report.

The Premier League outfit, the report further added, are in the transfer market for a left-back that will battle Ashley Young for a starters’ place next season.

Sadly, the La Roja defender has declared that he is not willing to leave the La Liga champions, even as he noted that he is looking forward to end his football career at the Spanish topflight.

"I'm very happy at Barca," Alba revealed while speaking on the summer transfers linking him with a move out of the Spanish topflight.

"If it depended on me, I would stay at Barcelona my whole life. But it doesn't depend only on me, it's also what the club wants.

"It also depends on my performances, which this season has been very good, but I don't see myself away from Barca."

Interestingly, Alba joined Barcelona in 2012 for around £11m from Valencia.

At the last count, the left-back has appeared in 246 matches in all competitions, as Barcelona claimed 14 silverware that includes the 2014/15 Champions League, La Liga titles, as well as Copa del Rey.

The highly-rated defender is currently with Spain’s La Roja at the ongoing global football fiesta in Russia.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that Alba is reportedly linked with a move away from Nou Camp.

The Spanish left-back, who has two years left on his current Barca deal, is now wanted by Manchester United and Chelsea. However, his agent revealed that Alba has been standing by for over a year and a half to be offered fresh terms by Barca eggheads.
