Viral photos of Nairobi street couple wed in simple ceremony at market square

A Nairobi couple they defied all odds that life has thrown at them, the cold and rainy nights, constant harassment by the council askaris on an almost daily basis and allowed love to cover that all.

A group milled around the available free spaces and a road leading into the busy open air Gikomba market on Tuesday, June 19, to have a glance at the rare wedding ceremony between the street couple.

A video posted on a Facebook group showed other street children joined the lovely life partners in dance and song and not even the deafening noise from traders would deter them.

In one accord, they appeared lost for it was a moment to bless and soleminise the union between two street lovers.

Members of the public who were allured by the extraordinary affair gave their accounts detailing minute-to-minute happenings which had all the ingredients of a church wedding minus a pastor.

The groom looked sharp in his blue stripped suit encased in a light blue long sleeved shirt while the woman of the day managed a white gown complete with a veil, just like your ordinary nuptial.

The names of the couple however remained unknown.
