President Muhammadu Buhari has said his administration will sell off all recovered illegally acquired assets as part of the war against corruption.
Buhari made the disclosure on Sunday night, July 29, when responding to a question during an interactive session with the Nigerian community in Togo at the Nigerian embassy, Daily Trust reports.
The president said the money gotten from the sale of the recovered assets would be paid into the country’s treasury.

Speaking in a statement by the his senior special assistant on media and publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, the president assured Nigerians that his administration had remained steadfast in keeping to its three campaign promises of providing security, improving the economy and fighting corruption.
Buhari stated that if past governments had utilised 25% of the huge oil revenue available to them, Nigerians would not be complaining today.

The president complained that Nigerians were experiencing poor power supply despite the $16 billion reportedly spent on electricity.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari is set to honour the 83-year-old Imam, Abdullahi Abubakar, who reportedly saved about 300 persons in June 24, 2018, when suspected Fulani herdsmen killed over 200 in 15 communities in the Barkin Ladi local government area of Plateau state.
The Punch reports that the president has asked Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau state to bring the Imam to Abuja for a handshake and national honour.
Imam Abdullahi Abubakar was reported to have saved many Christians fleeing from a neighbouring village in the Barkin Ladi LGA by hiding them in his house and mosque.
Governor Lalong on Monday, July 30 during the opening ceremony of a three-day peace and security conference in the state, said God will reward the cleric for the good he has done.
