Get arrested by DSS and be paid N50,000 every night you spend in detention - Fayose tells residents

- As the Ekiti governorship election hots up, Ayodele Fayose promises residents arrested by security personnel

- Fayose says he would give any resident arrested by security men the sum of N50,000 for every night they spend in detention

- The promise has to do with the governorship election in the state

Ayodele Fayose, the outgoing governor of Ekiti state and chief campaigner for Kolapo Olusola-Eleka, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming governorship election in Ekiti, has made a special promise to residents of the state.

Fayose told residents of the state that any of them arrested by security men believed to be attached to the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kayode Fayemi, and detained, would get N50,000 for each of the nights such a person spends in detention.

However, Governor Fayose said this only applies to the period the election lasts.

“Henceforth, anyone that is arrested illegally by Fayemi and his rampaging policemen and DSS on this election issue will get N50k for each night spent in detention,” Fayose posted on Twitter.

The election is scheduled to hold on July 14 and Olusola-Eleka is slugging it out with Fayemi and other candidates.

NAIJ.com earlier reported that Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state accused the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, of planning to rig the forthcoming governorship election in Ekiti.

Fayose accused Oshiomhole, a former governor, of planning to do this the way he did in Edo state, but said the people of the state would reject any attempt to rig the election.

Fayose said all he and his party wanted was a credible, free and fair election, adding that any plan to use the 'Edo state option' in Ekiti will fail.
