Nigerians are known all over the world for a lot of things. One of which is our ingenuity. A young fashion designer named Taofeek Abijako is doing big things abroad.
At 19, Taofeek may be the youngest designer showing at New York Fashion Week. According to cfda.com, the Nigerian-born designer is using his platform to stimulate a meaningful cultural dialogue.
Inspired by his vibrant childhood and multi-cultural upbringing, he developed a curiosity in design from a young age and fashion became his main outlet for artistic expression.
He even launched his own label Head of State+ while at secondary school two years ago after he moved to the U.S.

His father was also a classically trained fashion designer in Nigeria; perhaps that is what inspired Taofeek to become a fashion designer himself.
