The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says no deadline has been set for those planning to defect from any other political party, including the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The disclosure was made by the party’s national publicity secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, on Monday, July 30, Premium Times reports.

NAIJ.com gathers that Ologbondiyan said the opposition party’s doors are open to anyone willing to join it.
He said: “We have no deadline for anyone joining us. The doors of the PDP are wide open for anyone who wants to come in. We have not set any deadline as being speculated in some quarters.
“We have constitutional provisions concerning those who want to run for offices in our party. So, nobody should fret about timing or otherwise. We have opened our doors.
“We are officially welcoming those who joined us last week in Abuja this week. We want to welcome those who have abandoned the sinking ship of the All Progressives Congress to a winning team that will take the country to another level of comfort and prosperity.”

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that the PDP is planning a special meeting of its National Executive Committee (NEC) to enable it receive defectors from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
No date has been fixed for the NEC meeting, but Kola Ologbondiyan, the party’s national spokesperson, was quoted as saying the PDP caucuses had been notified.
