- The Old Trafford outfit are not bothered by Juve's purported £500,000 a week salary offer
- Manchester United eggheads insist they need an iconic signing to be able to battle city rival’s Manchester City
Premier league side Manchester United are plotting a mega bid that will topple Juventus £88m offer for Cristiano Ronaldo, reports suggest.
According to a UK Sun report, Red Devils’ executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is already putting the numbers together after going through the Old Lady’s £88m bid to have the Los Blancos star.
Eggheads of the Old Trafford outfit are not bothered by the purported £500,000 a week salary the current world’s best player is expected to earn at the Serie A side.

However, they are preparing a three-year bid for their former player who left United in 2009. On the other hand, they are not equally bothered by the 33-year-old forward’s relationship with Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho while at Santiago Benerbeau.
Sadly, Manchester United eggheads have secretly hinted they cannot sign Gareth Bale from Los Blancos, after the Portuguese emerged the topic of discuss among the club’s chieftains.
Also, Brazil’s Willian is another doubt as the Blues are not ready to step down from the £70m tag on the Selecao star.
Interestingly, Woodward has admitted that Manchester United need an iconic signing to be able to battle city rival’s Manchester City for the Premier League title.
And will also has a big impact during matches as well as with shirt sales and sponsorship deals.
The Red Devils are in the know that Ronaldo has not signed any deal with Juventus, who are also trying to sort out the financial demands of the deal.
Woodward alongside United eggheads do not see any reason why the Red Devils should not ‘hijack’ the deal with talks with Ronaldo’s super-agent Jorge Mendes, who also doubles as Mourinho’s representative.

It was also Mendes that ensured that the 19-year-old Portugal’s Diago Dalot completed the switch to Manchester United from FC Porto.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously had reported that Cristiano Ronaldo’s switch from Real Madrid to Juventus in a €100 million (about £88m) is still on course, latest reports suggest.
According to BeIN Sports Twitter handle, the Portuguese star will be handed Colombia’s Juan Cuadrado’s No 7 shirt when the deal is finally sealed.
