Trouble for 6 policemen in Edo for allegedly killing a Sweden returnee after collecting N3m ransom

- The 6 policemen allegedly abducted a man in his farm in Edo state

- The police command in Edo state says the law enforcement personnel killed the man and his farm manager

- The reportedly carried out the killings after collecting N3 million ransom

Six men of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have been arrested for allegedly playing roles in the abduction and murder of Kester Ehigwe, a citizen of the country who returned from Sweden, the Edo command has announced.

Daily Sun reports that Ehiwe was allegedly abducted alongside his farm manager, Bernard Ebhomien, on July 2, 2018 in Ekis’ village along Okhuoko road, in Ovia North East local government area of Edo state.

The report said Kester had spent 30 years in Sweden before returning to Edo state to set up the farm.

He was abducted within the farm and killed together with his manager after collecting a ransom of N3 million.

The report said the bodies were found on July 7, at the bank of the Ovia river.

The Edo state police command said its men also discovered two expended 7.62 live ammunition and two expended cartridges at the scene.

NAIJ.com earlier reported that operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Lagos state Police Command were accused of wrongful arrest and torture by a Taxify driver, John Otuchere.

The driver claims he was detained and tortured for allegedly stealing the bag of one Alice Isah; and is demanding justice for the violation of his human rights.

NAIJ.com also reported that commercial tricycle operators (popularly known as Keke NAPEP) in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno reportedly protested against alleged extortion by officers and men of the Nigerian Police Force.
