- Ronaldo's sister has faulted Europe's soccer arbiters after Luka Modric claimed UEFA best player award
- The Los Blancos playmaker defeated Ronaldo by 313 votes to 223
- Ronaldo was not present to receive his best forward award during the ceremony in Monaco
Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister Katia Aveiro has taken to the social media to tackle Europe’s football governing body, UEFA after Luka Modric scooped the UEFA Player of the Year award ahead of the Portuguese in Monaco on Thursday.
According to the results from the voting released by UEFA, the former Los Blancos star who joined Serie A champions Juventus during the summer transfers received 223 votes, 90 votes fewer than Modric’s 313.
A development that left Ronaldo’s sister, Aveiro to compare Modric’s stats in the Champions League during last season’s campaign with that of her brother in her Instagram handle.

Her message literally means to: “This!!!! Draw your own conclusions”.
Already, Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has lambasted UEFA moments after Modric was declared winner of the top prize at UEFA’s ceremony on Thursday.
“It's simply ridiculous, embarrassing even,” Mendes tweeted. “There's no doubt who the winner should be,” Mendes added.
Ronaldo didn’t attend the ceremony in Monaco and it seems to be clear as to why he was a no-show.
Interestingly, the 33-year-old Juventus forward was nowhere near Monaco during the ceremony, as if he was aware he was going to lose the main prize.
However, it could have offered the Portuguese star the opportunity to congratulate former teammates Modric and Sergio Ramos who were present at the ceremony.
Also the five-time Ballon d’Or winner could have personally collected the Champions League Forward of the Season silverware.

Reports are now suggesting that Modric could likely end the reign of Ronaldo and Lionel Messi Ballon d’Or duopoly since 2007 when Kaka won the coveted prize.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously had reported Real Madrid trio of Keylor Navas, Sergio Ramos and Luka Modric have won the Champions League's best goalkeeper, defender and midfielders respectively.
Los Blancos captured their third consecutive Champions League trophy on the bounce with Zinedine Zidane recording a 3-1 victory over Liverpool in the finals.
Navas beat former Roma shot-stopper Alisson Becker and ex-Juventus veteran goakeeper Gianluigi Buffon after making stunning saves during the competition to be crowned best goalkeeper in last season competition.
