18-year-old lady gets arrested after tricking a man in an attempt to steal his motorcycle

- An 18-year-old lady has been arrested after she attempted to steal a man's motorcycle

- The young lady arrested allegedly drugged the man to steal from him

- She allegedly tricked him into eating a chocolate bar that had drugs in it

Zinatu Abubakar, an 18-year-old lady, has been arrested after she allegedly attempted to steal a motorcycle in Katsina. The young lady had reportedly drugged the man in other to steal his motorcycle.

According to The Punch, the young lady had tricked the man into chewing a chocolate bar which made the man unconscious.

It was gathered that the police had revealed that the suspect who resided at Hayin Danmani Quarters in Kaduna state, is a member of a syndicate that tricked people.

Gambo Isah, the Katsina State Police Command spokesman, revealed to newsmen that Zinatu was arrested on Wednesday, August 29. Isah also noted that the suspect was undergoing and interrogation.

Read his statement below:

“On August 29, at about 10:00hrs, based on a tip-off, the command succeeded in arresting a female member of a notorious syndicate of motorcycle thieves that specialised in deceiving unsuspecting motorcycle riders by offering them poisoned chocolates.

Nemesis caught up with one Zinatu Abubakar, ‘aged 18 years of Hayin Danmani Quarters, Kaduna State when she chattered a commercial motorcycle, ridden by one Gide Wada, aged 25 years, of Yarhaka village, Batagarawa LGA of Katsina State from Kofar Kaura to Sokoto Rima Quarters, Katsina township.

With the good efforts of nearby Good Samaritans who witnessed the incident, the said suspect, Zinatu Abubakar, was arrested while her cohorts, one Abubakar and Chairman took to their heels and escaped.

The suspect confessed to have used the same modus operandi in Kaduna and Kano and robbed innocent cyclists of their motorcycles. Effort is in top gear to arrest other members of the syndicate."
